But, at 21 years old, Handler decided to pursue the stand-up comic profession full-time, because she realized her story telling talents. Handler began her career in the Oxygen Network's Girls Behaving Poorly which was a reality program with the use of a hidden camera/practical comedy. This show aired between 2002 and 2005. The handler appeared in various shows, such as Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice as well as My Wife and Kids. Handler worked on The Tonight Show for a period of time as a correspondent. Handler got her big break in 2006 when she began running her own talk show for E! Named The Chelsea Handler show. The show ran for two seasons. Handler was a part of the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the following year across the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend, HBO and Comedy Central have all aired her stand-up comedy shows. The announcement was made in 2010 that she will be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards 2010. With this, she became the second woman in history to host VMA's after Roseanne Barr.
